  1. What inspires your style?

The inspiration for my style comes from a number of places. My motivation comes from being unique. I like to wear things that are not really trendy or popular but still looks appealing. I aim to be multifaceted in fashion (classy to casual to cultural). Fashion is a silent language that illustrates who you are to the people around you.

2. Where can you buy a dashiki, and where’d you get yours?

Two places. I received one from Africa. That is where all the real authentic Daishikis originate. The neo-look Daishiki that I am wearing I bought on a website called Daishikipride.com . I love that they try to have Black models to showcase their pieces. People do not realize how important a piece of cultural garment is to individuals who partake in that specific culture. People who wear these pieces just because they’re “cool” or trendy shouldn’t be wearing them. Fashion should speak to who you are as an individual, not treated as some costume you choose to wear.

3. What could we find in your closet?

My closet ranges from suits to casual to cultural wear. Each day I think about either openly expressing myself or just playing it simple. Baggy clothes shouldn’t be in the closet of a fashionable man. Clothes that fit your body correctly are simply the way to go, at least in my opinion. Isn’t that why we have tailors?

4. What would you wear on a “feel good day”?

On a feel good day? I’ll most likely wear a form fitting dress shirt with a sleek black tie, slim black pants, black shoes and a dark red belt (I like to not match the shoes because, f*ck it). I will then top it off with a wide-brim fedora. The final touch will be an Eau de Toilette cologne that catches the senses of any woman that passes by. When I feel good, I like to keep it classy, yet sexy.

5. What trend from history do you predict will resurface?

I fore-see a cultural renaissance that will emerge. People expressing themselves through the language of the culture they identify with. These garments will be conservative yet explosive in color and designs. People will be walking art pieces from different origins.
