Kimmy J Fall Winter 2017

On the second day of New York Fashion Week, Kimmy J unveiled their Fall/Winter 2017 collection. This collection was entitled the “Dumpster Disposal Squad,” in reference to garbage collectors, who they characterized as superheroes. The collection had a very comic book vibe, but I’m very excited to see these bright vibrant colors approach the streetwear scene in the fall and winter of 2017-18. These color include neon green, lavender, and purple. I’m used to seeing and even wearing more darker colors in the fall and winter as they do contract heat and as they are easier to keep clean with all the snow and slush. It is, however, nice to appreciate the succinct evolution of streetwear, as this is not the first fall/winter 17 streetwear collection where these colors were unveiled. These color has shown up at numerous shows, some of which are Christopher Raeburn’s, and Liam Hodge’s. The collection consisted of both womenswear and menswear pieces but I’ve managed to pull out some of the menswear pieces for us to take a minute and appreciate. To see the full collection head to Obvious Mag. I have captioned the images with some of my favorites.
