Maison Mihara Yasuhiro F/W 17 Collection: 5 Trends to notice

Maison Mihara Yasuhiro sure showed a very interesting collection at London Fashion Week Men’s. The collection was very unique and I appreciate the very military approach it brought to streetwear. There was a lot of leather and velvet incorporated in the collection as well as some trends that were worth noticing. Here are 5 trends that were worth noticing from the Maison Mihara Yasuhiro fall winter 2017 collection.

Beret

If you know me, you would know that my favorite piece of accessory to sport is a beret. Some of you might have even seen me at fashion week last September wearing one. And if only I got paid for every time someone stopped me to ask where I got it or to complimented me, I would be very happy ( to say the least). But I definitely believe they should make a comeback in streetwear and I am very excited to see that I am not the only one who believes this. Apparently, so does Mihara Yasuhiro.

Shearling

Thanks to Mr. West, shearling has become very popular in streetwear today. If you’re not a fan of shearling yet I’ll definitely give you some time. But I’m really excited to see this trend making its rounds within the fashion industry as an alternative to fur. It’s tremendously good at sustaining warmth and looks pretty stylish.

High Waist/Baggy Jeans

If you haven’t seen my list of tops 5 trends from the Liam Hodges Fall Winter 2017 show, High waist pants and baggy jeans are to be expected for the fall and winter of 2017. Many designers are tapping into this trend and I really hoping to see it trickle down into mainstream streetwear. Not only does it look classy and sophisticated, but its nice to appreciate a pair of pants that are squeezing your legs. Nor would you have to worry about not having thin enough legs to fit into those pair of ‘skinnys’ you bought.

Turtle Neck

If you don’t have a turtle neck sweater in your wardrobe as yet, the truth is ….. that your’e not alone, and I don’t either. They look very luxurious, classy and sophisticated but truth be told, not everyone looks the same in them. With that being said if you haven’t went out and tried one on as yet, I highly encourage you to do so.

Cropped Trousers

Cropped trousers have definitely been around for a while now but for some reason I don’t see much of them in fast fashion stores like H&M, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters. Therefore, if you would like a pair of cropped trousers, I would strongly suggest designer retailers such as Barneys, Dover Street Market and Ssense. Or you can try your luck at ASOS.
