Tommy Hilfiger revealed their Fall Winter 2017 collection, January 10th, in Florence at the Pitti Uomo tradeshow. It is said that this was a two hours presentation that featured 20 looks presented on mannequins. While the collection seemed to be mostly formal wear and business casual, but we couldn’t help but mention the very streetwear approach they took, in terms of styling and the many pieces you can add to your streetwear wardrobe. Here are some of our favorite looks and pieces from the collection.
We really like this look, its very well put together and a little formal with hints of streetwear. We really like the outer jacket with its very bulky silhouette, as well as the inner jacket, a Tommy Hilfiger classic. The trousers are also pretty flattering and their stylist did a really good job with pairing it with a pair of burgundy sneakers. Not bad.
This looks isn’t horrible but we here at Velvet Blue Ocean are all about forward fashion. So if stepping up your style is a goal of your’s in the fall and winter of 2017, adding this tote and these pair of (what appears to be) navy blue velvet sneakers to your look is the way to go.
We really like this shearling jacket not only for the shearling but also the Tommy Hilfiger cuff. As we expressed in our review of the Maison Mihara Yasuhiro FW17 Collection, shearling is a really great thing to have for the winter season. It looks very cool and streetwear ready, while it provides a tremendous amount of warmth. Not to mention, it adds a little luxury to your look. These shoes probably look very familiar to you but they’re also really great to have for the season incase you don’t have a pair already.
We really adore this tote bag. Its great to have one to carry around your heavy essentials like textbooks, camera equipments etc. Not to mention the versatile plaid print and leather straps that make it wearable with almost anything.
I’m sure we’re all familiar with bomber jackets but this jacket is very unique to us, as it composes the signature Tommy Hilfiger knitted elastic cuff and hem. The pocket details are very flattering in its placements, especially on the arm where you can store your cardholder and other little accessories. We really like the shearling collar as well. Well done Tommy.
This navy blue bomber is also one of our favorite picks. Incase you didn’t realize, ‘blue’ is our favorite. So, we’re really happy to see Tommy Hilfiger use this color for the cuffs and hem of the jacket. We really like the knitwear front chest panel, as it is great for cold weather. The shirt also has a very interesting design to it. It looks very Tommy Hilfiger while its very modern. Incase you didn’t see our review of Liam hodges’s FW17 collection, patch work/color blocking is a trend to be expected for the fall-winter 2017 season as its been spotted in numerous runway shows at London Fashion Week Men’s.
